Counseling is a new adventure for most of my clients! I hope these answers to some frequently asked questions can help you on the journey.

What services do you provide?

I provide counseling and therapy services to adults in North Carolina and New Jersey. A list of my treatment focuses can be found on my services page. To summarize, I work well with people who desire balance in their life and a break from all expectations.  I utilize an eclectic approach, incorporating mindfulness to meet my clients where they are and help them to slow down and focus on their journey.

When are your available times for appointments?

I offer a mix of morning, afternoon, evening and weekend sessions. Once you’re an established client, you can view my availability through the booking widget or by contacting me directly. I am happy to meet with you weekly or biweekly depending on your needs.

How much do you charge? Do you accept insurance?

Session fees for appointments vary depending on the service provided. I offer a sliding fee scale that can be discussed on request. Let’s make therapy work for you AND your budget.

I accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and the BCBSNC State Health Plan.

If you carry other insurances, I will gladly provide Superbills as requested. A Superbill is a document you submit to your insurance provider using your Out of Network benefits where the insurance company reimburses you directly for the amount paid.  I am happy to answer any questions you may have about Superbills and insurance. Here is some basic information on insurance plans and their differences.

What is the difference in Counseling and Therapy?

There really isn’t one! The two terms are synonymous with one another. Some people say counseling is more long term, and therapy is a shorter duration. To me, both are one in the same.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24-hour notice of cancellation. If not canceled within 24 hours, a full fee will be charged to the card on file. I offer text and/or email appointment reminders if you would like.

What does online therapy or counseling look like?

Online therapy (telehealth, E-Therapy, Telemed, etc) looks a lot like therapy would in person! The initial session gives us the time to get to know one another, go over some paperwork and start to think about our goals for therapy and working together. We will discuss what has and has not worked for you in the past, so we have a solid starting foundation. Over the course of our time together, we will work together to attain your goals.

One thing COVID-19 has surely taught us is the necessity to be flexible and online counseling is just that.  We are able to meet in your own or other safe area and find some balance.
